Egypt to sack coach Hector Cuper if they lose to Nigeria

Head coach of Egypt’s national team, Hector Cuper has been given a two-match ultimatum by the Egyptian Football Association. The Pharaohs recorded a 2-0 victory against the Stallions in an international game played on Saturday, February 27 ahead next the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria.
Despite the win, the Egyptian FA were not happy with the teams performance and have told Cuper that he will be dismissed if they fail to defeat Nigeria.
“Cuper has been given a two-match ultimatum by the Egyptian Football Association,” a source is quoted as saying by African Football.
“He has been told to beat Nigeria and ensure Egypt qualify for Gabon 2017 or face dismissal.
“EFA chiefs were not impressed with the team’s performance against Burkina Faso and have warned Cuper to shape up and pick valuable points in Kaduna and Alexandria, if he hopes to retain his job.”The report states that the terms of Cuper’s contract, stipulates that Egypt must qualify for the 2017 AFCON, after they failed to reach the last three edition.

Egypt will play the Super Eagles in Nigeria at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday, March 25 with the return leg to be played in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29.
Egypt are on top of the group with maximum six points after beating Tanzania at home and Chad away while Nigeria are second with four points after a win and a draw
