Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar has urged Nigerians not to expect magic from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Abubakar also said that it’s unfair to judge the APC government based on its achievements in the 10 months it’s been in power.
The governor made the comments on Saturday, March 12, 2016, during an interview in Abuja, Punch reports.
“It is unfair for the APC government to be judged. People have forgotten that the PDP held sway for 16 years. Therefore, people should not expect magic from the APC. We are committed,” the governor said.
“You can see from the time we took over that even oil, which price has been dwindling, has started to rise due to the efforts of Mr. President. So, people should not be impatient. People should give us at least 16 years and see if we would not remove the rot that the PDP had caused.
“It is unfair for Nigerians to judge us in eight or nine months. I am assuring Nigerians that the APC government at the centre is on course and all the APC governments in the states will deliver Insha Allah,” he added.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina had earlier expressed a similar statement saying that Buhari promised Nigerians change but they’re expecting magic.
