Goodluck Jonathan constituted and left a truly independent and working INEC before he left office. This was evident in the non-interference with electoral and judicial matters in the number of governorship elections that were won both at the polls and in the court by opposition parties in Anambra, Imo, Osun states, among others during his administration.
Infact,so independent was the electoral system during his tenure that it conducted an election acclaimed to be free and fair that eventually ousted him from office. But the government of president Muhammadu Buhari through its desperation to remain relevant and most importantly win an oil producing state has destroyed the free and fair election legacy of the last administration. To me president Muhammadu is a disgrace to governance.
This clueless nomad doesn't care about the sanctity, neutrality and integrity of Nigeria’s electoral process. The same electoral process that brought him to power. Before you accuse me of not knowing what I am talking about, please take a quick peep at the macabre dance steps that ensued in Kogi state, Bayelsa state, Gombe state, Anambra Central senatorial district and the unfolding drama in Rivers state, all under the watch of Mr "intergrity" and you will agree with me that all these nauseating happenings could have been avoided had Mr. President been competent enough and had. paid more attention to the need for an improved electoral process by obeying the Constitution regarding the composition of INEC.
I learnt he appointed 7 heads instead of 13 heads constitutionally required to form a complete Board for the election management body. Please what does the President hope to achieve, after benefiting from a process that was sanitised for effectiveness, only to watch it slide because of his manifest insouciance or better still ineptitude ? For me its either the chairman of INEC be sacked or president Muhammadu resigns, because with what I have seen so far with this administration 2019 election WILL be a very big disaster.......6ft
