Super Eagles coach,Samson Siasia invites Mainz defender Leon Balogun after criticism of been left out

After initially being left out of the Super Eagles squad to face Egypt later in the month, Mainz defender, Leon Balogun has called back into the team by caretaker coach, Samson Siasia.
Balogun has been one of the stand-out defenders in the Bundesliga this season and his omission by Siasia was one of the talking points of his 42-man team he revealed on Thursday, March 3.

The latest invitation brings to 21 the number of overseas –based players called for the games. Speaking about his team ahead of the double header against Egypt, Siasia declared that only those who show guts and grit, and ability to adapt to conditions, would be fielded against the Pharaohs.
“These are two matches that we have to win. There would no looking at what someone had done in the past, or current form at club level," Siasia is quoted to say by the NFF wesbsite.

"If you are doing well at your club at the moment and you can’t show ferocious form in training and ability to adapt to the environment, then you would have no place.“I am excited at the debate that has been generated by the team list. You can never satisfy everyone. The important thing is that we know the players we want for these big games and we have invited them, and we believe in them to deliver.”

Nigeria will play the Egypt in Nigeria at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday, March 25 with the return leg to be played in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29.
Egypt are on top of the group with maximum six points after beating Tanzania at home and Chad away while Nigeria are second with four points after a win and a draw.
