A Lagos State based journalist identified as Abu, found out the hard way that anyone in uniform in the country is practically above the law when some Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), brutalised him for daring to record as one of them was fighting a motorist.

The journalist who ended up with severe bruises to his face and bleeding lips and nose, narrated that he was going on an assignment when he saw the VIO official fighting with a motorist and he brought out his phone to record the show of shame on video.
Unknown to him, another officer had spotted him and went to confiscate the phone but when he refused to hand it over, the man called on other of his colleagues and they gave him the beating of his life.At the end of the beating, Abu was left bleeding profusely and needing medical attention.
The injured journalist who narrated his plight, said it was not as if he could not fight the men but that his profession forbids engaging in fisticuffs.

"Not because I am physically weak and can not fight but my profession does not permit me to so do.
But I will take legal action against the VIO official and justicfe must prevail and serve as a deterrent and stop them  from further harassing innocent citizens."
