Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe has rejected a move from Premier League side West Brom to Championship side Derby County. The Beijing Olympic silver medallist joined the Baggies on deadline day in 2013 after a £6 million move from Everton.
He has however failed to hang to a first team place, starting just two league starts – seven in all competitions – for the Baggies this season.Over the three seasons he has spent at the club, the 27-year-old has scored just nine goals in 57 appearances.
A move to Derby County was proposed to him by the club but Anichebe has chosen to remain at West Brom to fight for a place in the team.
His contract with the Hawthorns expires at the end of the season and Anichebe is also looking for a lucrative Bosman transfer.
