The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has withdrawn the security aides approved for wanted former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo better known as Tompolo.
The Federal Government under late President, Umaru Yar’Adua in 2009, gave Tompolo the personal security operatives.According to Vanguard, a source in Tompolo's camp confirmed that the aides were withdrawn last month, shortly after Justice Ibrahim Buba issued the first bench warrant against the ex-militant leader.
It was gathered that security chiefs were, yesterday, February 24, mapping out strategy on how to track down Tompolo, who was declared wanted by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 11.
The EFCC had told the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on February 19, that the combined effort of the Police and the Nigerian Army in search of Tompolo was futile, he was no where to be found.
