NFF announces former Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba as U-17 boss

Despite rejecting the offer to become coach of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, Manu Garba has been announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the boss of Nigeria U-17 side.
Garba who led the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to victory in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup was promoted to the job as coach of the Flying Eagles but the U-21 were not impressive under his stint.

After successfully leading Nigeria to its second consecutive U-17 title in 2015, Emmanuel Amuneke was appointed by the NFF to lead the Flying Eagles while Garba was demoted back to the Golden Eaglets. He told Pulse Sports that he had rejected the offer but the NFF have released a statement announcing him as coach of the Golden Eaglets.

According to the statement, Garba will now be assisted by Atuni Ali and Ernest Teigpanyo.

The Golden Eaglets will a few months begin the qualification series for the 2017 African U-17 Championship, which will be hosted by Madagascar.
