Nasarawa Gov.Al-Makura reportedly sacks worker over Facebook post

Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa has reportedly sacked a female employee of the state's Ministry of Justice over her Facebook post. According to a report by Leadership Newspaper, Ruqaiyyat Tijjani Usman, daughter of a former commissioner in the state was sacked by the governor following her post on facebook, where she allegedly wrote, I weep for my state.

“I can see some political thugs protesting and not professionals; are we going down this way? I weep for my state," Miss Usman had written during the recent strike action in the state.
It was further reported that upon receiving a printout copy of the post and the comments and discourse it had generated from the office of the special adviser on Command Centre, Governor Al-Makura, terminated Miss Usman's appointment after summoning her to his office.
However, the purported action has generated heavy criticism from different quarters with the state's NLC chapter threatening to down tool if the alleged decision by the governor is not reversed.
The state's chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adeka, said by Monday, the leadership of trade unions will meet with the state attorney- general and commissioner of Justice and if the decision was not reversed within 24 hours, they would be forced to shut down the state in a fresh strike action.
Similarly, the former Attorney General and commissioner of Justice in the state, Hon. Innocent Lagi, condemned the action, assuring that he would head to court tomorrow to challenge the legality of the action of the state government.
