The 28-year old rapper, real name Robert Williams, testified that it wasn't his intention to thumb his nose at the system by leaving Philadelphia without permission from the court, but the life of an artist is chaotic and schedules frequently change at the last minute.
He said that he has transformed into a better person since beginning a relationship with Nicki Minaj earlier this year."I'm not a gangsta. I'm not a criminal," he told the judge as Minaj looked on. "I have my queen, Nicki [Minaj] now. I'm trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there."
Mill added that he realizes his "life is on the line" and has left old friends behind in order to spend more time with his family and Nicki," according to the Associated Press.
Despite the emotional testimony, Brinkley, ruled that the rapper had violated his probation, which stems from his 2009 drug and gun conviction. She will decide at a February 5, 2016, hearing whether or not to send him back to jail.
Until then Meek cannot work or perform except for community service.
Last year Brinkley sent him to jail for 5 months for violating his probation.
