Two security guards in soup for gang-raping 17-yr-old girl

Two security guards, Solomon Ichoja, 23, and Geoffrey Arve, 20, have been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly gang-raping a 17-year-old girl.The guards who were employed by a private security firm, residing Olosa Street, Victoria Island and Kaka Street, Ayobo, respectively, were arrested after the girl reported to her parents that they forcefully had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

They were arraigned at the Igbosere Magistrates' Court presided by Mr. W. B Balogun, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, sexual harassment and rape.
The police prosecutor, Corporal Cyracus Osuji. told the court that the suspects committed the offence on April 8, around 9pm at 7, Olosa Street, Victoria Island, where Ichoja resides, alleging that they sexually harassed and unlawfully raped the girl.When the charges were read to them, the two guards pleaded not guilty and the Magistrate granted them N1 million bail, with two sureties each in the like sum, one of whom must have landed property in Lagos.
He also ordered the sureties to deposit N250,000 each in the court registrar’s account, and also show evidence of their relationship with the defendants, before adjourning the case to May 11, for mention.
