British boxer Anthony Joshua talks about his Nigerian roots

New IBF champion, Anthony Joshua has revealed that he stays in touch with the country of his parents, Nigeria. Joshua was born in Watford to a Nigerian mother and father. He grew up for much of his early years in Nigeria before returning to UK. Speaking to BBC Sport, Joshua says he stays very much in touch with the Nigeria culture and hopes to fight there one day.

“I have Nigerian parents and I’m still very in touch of the culture as well,” he the 26-year-old.Joshua who beat Charles Martin in the second round on Saturday, April, 10 to become the new IBF Champion says he’s open to fighting in Africa.
“There is so much I want to do outside of boxing but if the opportunity comes it will be great,” he said.
“You have to look at what has been done before from Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, so it’s possible.”
Joshua, it has been confirmed has a secret son with his on and off girlfriend, Nicole Osbourne.

He shared a photo of the six-month old baby after his victory writing; “finally achieved one of my goals as a professional boxer! Now the dust has settled it's time to sit back and relax with my family and my lil champ J.”
