Returnee Decampee Olusegun Osoba says APC Is His Father's House

dailytimes.ng
A former governor of Ogun, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on Tuesday, April 5, said he returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after mediation by two prominent traditional rulers in the state
He stated this in Abeokuta at the public presentation of a book authored by a leading politician, Chief Alani Bankole.

Osoba, who was the special guest of honour at the programme, acknowledged the mediatory roles played by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

The former governor, who commended the two monarchs, described them as "bridge builders.’’

It would be recalled that Osoba defected from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) shortly before the 2015 general elections.

But on Sunday, April 3, 2015, national leaders and chieftains of the APC held a reconciliatory meeting with Osoba at his Ikoyi, Lagos residence during which he announced his return to the party.

"I am a founding father of the APC. I am back in my father's house," he said.

Osoba described his absence from the party as "a period of leave of absence."
