Adrien Broner defeated Mayweather Promotions fighter, Ashley Theophane, by 9th round technical knockout at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C. on Friday, April 1st.During his post-fight interview, About Billions, turned his attention to Floyd Mayweather Jr., as their beef continues to escalate.
"Somebody that I look up to, someone that I admire took the chance to do an interview and talk bad about me," Broner said. "I don't know how y'all look at it, but I don't like it. I wasn't gonna do this, but I'm a man that learns sh!t from physical activity. So, me and Floyd ... he gotta see me. Point, blank, period. I'm a man at the end of the day. And I come from the streets, the trenches, man. From the bottom ... from nothing. I'm talking about water and corn flakes. I come from nothing and I will never let a man disrespect me like that. So, he gotta see me. I don't care if we spar or we fight. Let's get it on."
Mayweather, who was standing in Theophane's corner during Broner's interview, seemed amused by it all. He laughed and clapped when A.B. was finished.
If you're wondering what set Broner off, check out Money May's recent interview with Fighthype below. He's highly critical of his former friend.
"Adrien Broner, his nickname is 'The Problem.' I think he has a lot of problems. Adrien Broner was just an alcoholic six months ago. One thing I'm trying to find out about Adrien Broner, is he a boxing promoter, is he a rapper, is he a porn star, or is he a gangster? Like I said before, 'The Problem,' that's what Adrien Broner likes to call himself, if I'm not mistaken. The problem that he really needs to focus on is his problem in Cincinnati...I think the best name for him is not 'The Problem,' it's 'Snake,'" Floyd said.
That interview was preceded by a video from Broner responding to comments by Mayweather, who didn't like seeing A.B. throwing cash in the air at a Walmart.
"I been seeing a lot of blogs and motherf*ckers been hitting me up talking 'bout Floyd talking about me ... again. Not once. This has happened on multiple occasions," Broner says in the clip. "This goes back to what I say. Real n!ggas don't do this type of sh!t, bruh. I'm starting to feel like I'm a threat to you big bruh, and I don't like that. But, I'm starting to feel like you're saying f*ck me, so it gotta be f*ck you."
Do you think Floyd should come out of retirement to fight Broner?
