Chris Giwa has assumed duties as the 'President' of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), despite calls by the sports minister, Solomon Dalung for parties to let the law take its course.
Punch reports that Giwa also announced the sack of state football associations.

The factional NFF President also issued an official statement saying “Based on the Order of the Federal High Court Jos, which nullified the Warri elections, that has guaranteed the fact that all actions undertaken by the Amaju Pinnick board are illegal and unknown to law. Therefore, all state Football Associations stand dissolved. Existing board members in the states are free to re-contest their positions.”
Giwa also said “It has come to the notice of the Board that the sacked Amaju Pinick board had invited some persons to Abuja to cause confusion, we wish to alert the public that we shall file contempt of court proceedings on such persons.”
A High court in Jos reportedly sacked the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick.
Meanwhile, human rights lawyer and counsel to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Festus Keyamo revealed that Pinnick, was not sacked by any court.
Keyamo described it as a legal impossibility, adding that Pinnick was not joined as a party in the suit.
