According to reports, a former Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Alhaji Abbas Aidi under the late Chief Adebayo Adefarati administration in Ondo State, has slumped and died at a cyber cafe in Akure.
The report said, the former commissioner was said to have died after opening his mail box to see an important letter he had been expecting for a long time, before the strange occurrence. Though his family members didn’t disclose what the letter was all about, he has been buried according to Muslim rites. Speaking to newsmen, a family source confirmed that the late politician was hale and hearty in the morning, as he expressed shock over his death. The late Aidi was born in Ikare. He worked as a banker for many years in Kaduna and Kano before joining politics. In 1999, he moved to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) where he worked with the ex-governor, late Adebayo Adefarati who made him commissioner. He has been buried according to Islamic rites at Ikare-Akoko, his home town as the ceremony was witnessed by Lasisi Oluboyo, the deputy governor of Ondo state, Ansar-ud-Deen National Organising Secretary Ibrahim Kilani, former House of Representatives member Ganny Dauda and other Muslim leaders.
