Brother of Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Nwakali confirms he's joining Arsenal

Elder brother of Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Nwakali has revealed that World Cup winner is set to join Arsenal.The midfielder was impressive for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as they won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Nwakali finished the tournament as the best player, winning the Golden Ball.His brother Allwell Nwakali confirmed that the midfielder is set to join Arsenal in an interview with Complete Sports.

In interview, Allwell who is the guardian of the midfielder revealed that the Nwakali family and the player's academy did not receiving any bride before accepting to join Arsenal.

Several European sides like Manchester City,  Udinese, Olympiacos and Ajax were all interested in the midfielder but Allwell says that Arsenal's history with young players made them the best chioce.

"It is absolutely wrong then for anybody to insinuate that money was used to sway our decision," the senior Nwakali to Complete Sports.


"Arsenal are known to have a good program for young players. They develop young stars and enhance their careers, and the records are there for anyone to see and admit that we made the right and honourable choice.”According to Gary Jacob of the Times,  Arsenal are set to pay a ‘minimum combined fee of £3 million’.

The players will be signed as Academy players and will be given professional contracts by the Gunners when they turn 18.

Nwakali whose elder brother plays for Manchester City said he chose to join Arsenal which is his dream club.

He once told MTN Football: "I would love to play for Arsenal. They are their Premier League club I will like to play for them because they play the best football in the world."
